Video: Evalutating your needs

New York Laser Lipo expert Dr. Lori Brightman discusses her method of evaluating a patient's needs prior to treatment.

No "Low-Cost Option" in Laser Liposuction

Any procedure, whether it’s an elective procedure such as laser liposuction, or a necessary surgery, requires a skilled physician with ample experience. The single biggest factor you should consider is who your surgeon will be. Picking the right doctor will help you achieve the overall objective you are looking for. It is quite common to see patients who have gone looking for a 'good deal' in laser lipo, only to be let down, have complications or worse.

Take No Chances

Physicians who are highly experienced, trained and specialized in performing these types of procedures often see complications that have arisen as a result of inexperienced providers offering these treatments. I see them in my office all the time and it’s sad. People who have received scars permanently or other problems. We do our best to treat these patients and heal their issues, but unfortunately sometimes we can only improve it up to a point.

Price Not the Only Consideration

I would really strongly advise against price shopping for laser liposuction. If you go looking for a bargain, you are likely to be disappointed. These are medical procedures, and you need an experienced, specialized surgeon performing it. You are not paying just for the procedure, ultimately you are paying for the skill of the surgeon performing it and that is truly priceless. This is because if anything were to go wrong – and it can happen even in the best of hands, a highly experienced surgeon may know how to take care of you. Every physician performing these procedures has seen complications, if you perform enough of them, eventually you will see complications. If you are in experienced hands, you will have a better chance of them being handled properly.
